Our Mission

Welcome to the mission of the Sri Lanka CKDu Foundation, where our dedication lies in combating Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown etiology (CKDu) prevalent in Sri Lanka. Our foundation is driven by the urgent need to raise awareness about CKDu and its causes while actively seeking sustainable solutions to alleviate its impact on affected communities. Our mission encompasses several key objectives:

Raising Awareness

We aim to educate individuals, communities, and policymakers about CKDu, its causes, risk factors, and preventive measures. By fostering awareness, we strive to empower people with the knowledge needed to protect themselves and their families from this debilitating disease. Recognizing the importance of community involvement, we work closely with local residents, community leaders, and organizations to ensure that our efforts are culturally sensitive, inclusive, and sustainable. By fostering community engagement, we empower individuals to take an active role in protecting their health and well-being.

Research and Advocacy

Through collaboration with medical professionals, researchers, and relevant stakeholders, we support ongoing research efforts to better understand the root causes of CKDu. Additionally, we advocate for policies that prioritize CKDu prevention, early detection, and access to healthcare services for affected individuals..

Implementing Solutions

We are committed to implementing practical solutions to address the underlying factors contributing to CKDu, particularly focusing on water quality and access to safe drinking water. Our foundation actively engages in the design and installation of water filtration systems in communities heavily impacted by CKDu, aiming to provide sustainable solutions to improve water quality and safeguard public health.

Capacity Buildng

We prioritize the training and capacity building of local professionals and volunteers to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of our initiatives. By equipping individuals with the necessary skills and resources, we aim to create a network of dedicated advocates and practitioners committed to combating CKDu at the grassroots level.
